Crimper

This role works in the crimping department and focuses on assembling high-quality wire harnesses and cable assemblies. You will read and follow detailed assembly instructions, use a variety of hand tools and crimping equipment, and perform testing and inspections to ensure every product meets strict quality standards. The position suits someone who is mechanically inclined, highly attentive to detail, and eager to learn in a structured, mentor-supported environment.

Responsibilities
  • Read and follow detailed wire harness assembly instructions to build products accurately and consistently.
  • Gather all required materials, components, and tooling in an organized manner before starting each job.
  • Route, cut, measure, and assemble wires and electronic components using wire layout boards.
  • Operate small handheld equipment such as crimp presses, hand crimpers, wire twisters, and wire strippers to complete crimping and wiring tasks.
  • Use a soldering iron to solder wires to switches or connectors according to specifications.
  • Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harness and cable assemblies using test fixtures to verify performance.
  • Perform visual inspections during in-process stages and on final products to confirm quality and compliance with standards.
  • Handle and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently when required.
  • Apply strong attention to detail and mathematical skills to ensure precise measurements, cuts, and connections.
  • Collaborate with mentors and team members to learn correct job functions and continuously improve workmanship.
  • Use basic hand tools such as torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and hammers safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the crimping department.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers regarding job progress, issues, and quality concerns.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while performing all tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to read and follow wire harness assembly instructions accurately.
  • Ability to route, cut, measure, and assemble wires and electronic components using wire layout boards.
  • Proficiency in operating small handheld equipment such as crimp presses, hand crimpers, wire twisters, and wire strippers.
  • Ability to conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harness and cable assemblies using test fixtures.
  • Ability to use a soldering iron to solder wires to switches or connectors.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent hand dexterity for precise assembly work.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills, including measurement, and confident use of a tape measure.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently when required.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.
  • Motivated, detail-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous crimp or wire harness experience is preferred but not required.
  • Mechanical inclination and strong mechanical aptitude are highly beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of common hand tools such as torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and hammers.
  • Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or light industrial environments is a plus.
  • Ability to follow mentoring and training guidance to develop and refine technical skills.
  • Comfort working with wire harness, crimping, soldering, machine operation, and braider processes is advantageous.
