Woodworker Rough Mill Floater

We have an immediate opening for a Woodworker / Rough Mill Floater. The position requires someone who has woodworking experience and can accurately identify different wood species and accurately read a tape measure.

In this role, the ideal candidate will be cross-trained to learn the various positions within the Rough Mill, which include operation of a Rip Saw, set up and operation of a Jointer and glueing panels, operation of a Edgebander and previous experience with a CNC or Moulder. The Woodworker Rough Mill Floater will fill in as needed to cover absences within the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operation of a Rip Saw
  • Operate the saw and joiner
  • Operation of the edgebander
  • Operation of a CNC and/or moulder
  • Forklift Experience
  • Keep area in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
  • Ability to operate or learn various other equipment in the Rough Mill
  • Knowledge of wood species and accurately be able to read a tape measure.
  • Adheres to all company safety policies, written program procedures and standards at all times.
  • Adhere to all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and Quality Standards
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced work environment focused on accuracy and quality.
SKILLS:
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willing to cross train and float where assistance is needed with other positions within the rough mill.
  • Able to stand/walk during work shift
  • Able to read customer orders
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Previous woodworking and saw experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Working in woodworking shop: 1 year (Preferred)
HOURS:
  • This is a first shift position with hours of M-Th from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm with overtime as required. (Four day work week!)
  • Regular and consistent attendance required.

Pay Rate is competitive and based on knowledge and skill level.
