Bundy Baking Solutions seeks a skilled Manual Machinist to support our Manufacturing & Production team. You will set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to produce and repair tooling, fixtures, and custom components for industrial baking equipment. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting materials and tooling, holding tight tolerances, and performing quality checks with precision measuring instruments. You'll collaborate with engineers and production staff to solve machining challenges and support continuous improvement in a progressive, family-owned, global baking solutions company.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to machine components
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
- Select appropriate materials, tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job
- Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements for baking equipment components
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on manual machines
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff on tooling and process improvements
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Follow all safety, housekeeping, and 5
- S standards in the machining area
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing and production processes
Required Skills
- Manual lathe operation
- Manual milling machine operation
- Surface and cylindrical grinding
- Blueprint reading and GD&T basics
- Use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Machining setup and work holding
- Material properties and machining of steels and alloys
