About Us

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products. The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.

All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing.

Your Goal

The Supervisor is responsible for leading the teammates in their assigned department. Their goal is to optimize manufacturing operations. This position is a role model for collaboration and performance, while overseeing teammate productivity, monitoring throughput, ensuring quality of work, and ensuring safety requirements are met.

Your Responsibilities

Oversees and motivates production output and product quality

Ensures all production processes adhere to standardized policies and procedures, and are compliant with regulatory requirements, including ISO and OSHA.

Partners with leadership to develop and implement operating strategies, goals and objectives.

Develops systems and processes that aid in driving department performance objectives.

Communicates department goals, performance expectations, and relevant business information to teammates.

Troubleshoots issues that arise and collaborate with peer supervisors for resolution.

Monitors compliance with company safety and quality policies and procedures.

Performs production-related tasks within the department(s) to aid in continuous workflow.

Assists with training and developing teammates with product/process/system skills and knowledge along with job growth.

Handles interviewing, discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Periodically responsible for opening/closing the facility on weekdays and/or an occasional Saturday which includes arming/disarming the alarm system and answering phone calls. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Background

Ability to understand the machines and processes used in manufacturing operations.

Technical skills and competency commensurate with 5-10 years of manufacturing experience

1-2 years of leadership experience preferred.

Willingness to understand new machines, processes, and teammates to supervise different departments as the company needs change.

Proven ability to manage workflow

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.

Ability to professionally collaborate across departments and shifts.

Proven ability to train, coach, and cross-train employees; supports performance management and corrective action consistently and professionally.

Demonstrated experience enforcing safe work practices and participating in OSHA/EHS programs

Ability to obtain and maintain job-specific training credentials and required certifications

Physical Requirements

Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25lbs. of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects that are 10lbs.

Required to move in and out of out several departments on the shop floor throughout the day; traverse a ladder; grasp items from different heights; position self to move and retrieve items on the floor or above on a shelf; communicate with discern; detect safety alarms that are audible and visual; fine motor skills.

Must be able to operate a computer.

Requires concentration, accuracy, and focused mental effort while multi-tasking in a team environment.
