Production Floor Worker

The Production Floor Worker on 3rd shift performs physically demanding general labor tasks to support heat-treatment operations in a busy manufacturing environment. This role focuses on loading and unloading customer bins, verifying counts and label instructions, and ensuring parts are handled accurately and safely throughout the production process.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload customer bins into Rex Heat bins and prepare them for placement into ovens according to established procedures.
• Read and interpret bin labels to confirm part counts, verify that the number of pieces in each bin matches the label, and ensure accuracy before processing.
• Follow label instructions on how parts must be loaded in bins, including identifying when parts should be laid flat or stood on end.
• Perform continuous physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and stooping throughout the shift while handling bins and parts.
• Lift and move parts weighing 50–60 lbs repeatedly during the workday, using proper lifting techniques to maintain safety.
• Use an overhead hoist to move larger or heavier pieces when required, following all safety guidelines and equipment procedures.
• Maintain strong attention to detail to prevent errors in part handling, bin identification, and loading orientation.
• Support general manufacturing and assembly activities as needed to keep production running efficiently.
• Operate basic machinery and equipment on the production floor in accordance with training and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring bins, parts, and tools are stored and handled properly.
• Follow all safety rules and guidelines, including proper use of equipment and adherence to facility policies.
• Learn and assist with testing parts and operating a forklift as skills develop and training is provided.
• Work cooperatively with operators and other team members to meet production goals and customer requirements.

Essential

Skills:

• At least 6 months of general labor experience in a physically demanding role.
• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial or production environment.
• Proven ability to read and comprehend written instructions, labels, and basic documentation.
• Good mathematical skills to count parts accurately and verify quantities against labels.
• Ability to lift 50–60 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure correct part counts and proper loading orientation.
• Capability to perform repetitive bending, twisting, and stooping safely for extended periods.
• Comfort working in a very hot environment with ovens running at all times.
• Reliability and consistency in following procedures and safety guidelines.
• No formal education or certifications required.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

• Experience with heavy lifting in an industrial or warehouse setting.
• Experience in assembly or machine operation on a production floor.
• Exposure to forklift operation, with the willingness to learn and expand skills.
• Ability to learn basic testing procedures for parts as training is provided.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically intensive tasks.
• Ability to work a fixed 3rd shift schedule with a half-hour lunch break.
• Comfort using overhead hoists or similar material-handling equipment after training.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, PA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
