MCC seeks a Press Assistant for 2nd and 3rd shift to support high-quality print production that advances our global relief, development, and peace building mission. Working in a faith-driven, service-oriented environment, you will assist press operators with setup, plate and stock changes, ink management, and routine adjustments while monitoring print quality and minimizing waste. Responsibilities include safe material handling, basic equipment care, accurate production documentation, and supporting continuous improvement to meet deadlines that serve MCC's worldwide partners.
Responsibilities
- Assist press operators with setup, makeready, and changeovers for 2nd and 3rd shift production
- Load, stage, and move paper, ink, and supplies safely and efficiently
- Monitor print quality, color, and registration, escalating issues to the press operator
- Perform basic cleaning and preventative care on press and related equipment
- Follow all safety, Lockout/Tagout, and housekeeping procedures in the pressroom
- Record run data, materials used, and production counts accurately
- Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and downtime
- Collaborate with supervisors and teammates to meet deadlines for MCC projects
- Uphold MCC's faith-driven, peace- and service-oriented values in daily work
Required Skills
- Offset or digital press operation support
- Print production workflow
- Material handling and staging
- Color and print quality inspection
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Lockout/Tagout and OSHA safety practices
- Measurement tools (calipers, gauges)
- Ink and substrate handling
- Production recordkeeping
- Basic computer and MIS usage
