The Shift Manger oversees daily workflow in the Production department ensuring all client jobs are produced based on the current production schedule within quality and timeline standards. This position monitors employee and machine performance, provides appropriate feedback to the Senior Production Manager and Quality Assurance Team; and coordinates machine staffing and job scheduling to ensure daily production goals are met.
Essential Functions- Coordinates staffing and machine operation to meet current production schedule
- Regularly checks for production schedule changes and adapts workflow and job priorities accordingly
- Teaches and coaches employees on the importance of safety, quality and production efficiencies
- Performs quality checks and verifies proper safety procedures are in place
- Schedules routine maintenance and documents all actions taken
- Troubleshoots machines as needed or coordinates with Maintenance Manager
- Ensures Department cleanliness and organization is maintained at all times
- Reviews timesheets daily
- Performs all duties of a Machine Operator when needed
- Completes additional tasks as assigned by Production Manager
- Maintains communication with other departments throughout the day
- Demonstrates behavior consistent with DMS Values and Code of Conduct
- Adheres to all DMS policies and procedures at all times
- Learns and adheres to all Information Technology and data security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures
- Learns and adheres to DMS rules and established policies for workplace health and safety
- Completes all required compliance training on time and in good faith
- Has Operators, Support Specialists, and Material Handlers as direct reports
- Level of supervision:
Manager - Provides regular and timely feedback on work quality and performance to all team members
- Conducts performance reviews, motivates team members and creates strategies to boost productivity
- Interviews and selects candidates to fill open spots on team using data
- Ensures employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three to five years' relevant experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite and various internet browsers
- Monday through Friday 2:30pm - 10:30pm
- Sunday through Thursday 10:30pm-6:30am
- OT is required
