CNC Set‑Up Machinist — Mills & Lathes

Own the Build from Set‑Up to Final Inspection Join our Trevose, PA team and take the lead on complex CNC work that keeps production moving. As a seasoned CNC Set‑Up Machinist, you’ll prepare and run intricate jobs on both mills and lathes—manual and CNC—while upholding strict quality and safety standards and keeping precise records.

What a Typical Shift Looks Like Review prints and travelers, load CNC programs, and complete full set‑ups: chucks, vises, collets, bushings, tool holders, attachments, cutting tools, stops, and stock pushers.

Prove out the program with first‑article and sample checks; make on‑the‑fly G‑code edits and offsets when needed.

Operate drill presses, manual mills, CNC mills, manual lathes, and CNC lathes to produce parts to spec.

Measure and verify: positions, first‑run parts, and in‑process work pieces using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.

Compare finished parts to engineering drawings and confirm compliance with company quality standards.

Maintain part conformance by monitoring drilling, grooving, and cutting—including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing—diagnosing issues, adjusting controls, and replacing worn tooling.

Load and unload raw materials and finished components safely and efficiently.

Document actions, note irregularities, and communicate pass‑downs to maintain continuity between shifts.

Keep a clean, orderly 5S workstation and follow all machine safeguards; proactively identify and report hazards in accordance with company, OSHA, and EPA requirements.

Pitch in with related tasks as needed.

Schedule & Training Second shift: 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM EDT. Initial training will be on first shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM EDT) for the first few weeks before moving to second shift.

What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
5+ years operating and programming CNC mills or lathes (7+ years preferred).Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.

Solid math and trigonometry skills.

Strong teamwork and communication; can also work independently with minimal supervision.

Fluent in reading part and tool prints.

Proficient with precision measuring tools and capable of holding close tolerances.

Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel tools; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and occasionally taste or smell.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
