JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: MANUAL MACHINISTReports To: Maintenance Supervisor
GeneralPurpose:
Under limited supervision, works from blueprints, sketches, or scratch to perform maintenance tasks by cutting and shaping metal to precision dimensions (.001). May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May assist maintenance and operators with minor or major repairs on machine malfunctions.

Specific Responsibilities:- Occasionally aid in repair and maintenance of die tooling such as punches, dies, etc.
- Work with Management/Maintenance team to provide solutions and support to breakdowns or improvement projects
- Must be able to operate manual Mill/Lathe/Surface Grinder and other basic metalworking equipment, Proto Trak or NC experience is a plus.
- Must be proficient in Geometry/Trigonometry
- Must be able to use precision measuring instruments (Caliper/Micrometer)
- Implements safety and good housekeeping practices.
Physical Demands:
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping
Moderate lifting up to 50 pounds
Moderate carrying up to 50 pounds
Sensory Abilities:
Interpret engineered drawings
Good communication skills
Work Environment:
Inside machine shop with varying environment
Temperament:
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to multitask or stay focused during multiple objectives
Cognitive Ability:Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to interpret engineering drawings
Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions
Ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasksAbility to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
JOB TITLE: MANUAL MACHINISTEducation Required:
Trade School or 5+ years’ experience working in a machine shop setting.
Relationships With Others:
Regular contacts with Management as well as production personnel.
Complexity Of Tasks:
Tasks are varied, requiring independent action and decision making.
Supervisory Responsibility:
None
