Marketing and Communications Specialist

Job Description

The Delaware County Intermediate Unit is seeking a talented, creative, and motivated Marketing and Communications Specialist with experience in graphic design, writing, social media, video production, podcast production, and photography to support the Director of Marketing and Communications. The Specialist will create graphic, written, video, and/or audio content that effectively communicates DCIU’s mission and engages our target audiences. The Specialist will develop and execute marketing strategies, craft and produce compelling content, manage communication channels, strengthen customer and stakeholder partnerships, and contribute to the branding and marketing efforts within the DCIU.

• Assist in the development of marketing and communications for the DCIU to brand, showcase, and promote DCIU services and programs and share events and developments within the DCIU.
• Develop, design, and produce compelling and innovative communications and marketing content including but not limited to social media, website, newsletters, presentations, brochures, and emails.
• Work with the Marketing and Communications Team to assess the return on investment (ROI) for marketing and communication strategies and campaigns.
• Assist in the development and implementation of strategic communications and marketing campaigns for the purpose of achieving defined objectives set by the Executive Director and Director of Marketing and Communications.
• Communicate with various contacts including legislators, the press, and community partners.
• Deliver and monitor content via newsletters, social media, email, and other vehicles for the purpose of communication and increasing awareness of DCIU’s brand, visibility, and value.
• Assist in creating content and providing support for a wide range of events, including fundraisers, recognition programs, competitions, and meetings hosted by DCIU.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team and DCIU divisions to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, branding, visuals, and user experience.
• Maintain a variety of databases (e.g., calendars, schedules, event registration) for the purpose of coordinating projects to ensure accuracy and completion.
• Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Marketing and Communications team.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (communications, marketing, video production, public relations, government relations).

Superior written, verbal, and multimedia communication skills; graphic content creation; knowledge of communications and marketing functions; social media creation and publication skills.

Two years of job‑related experience.

Full-Time, in‑person, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

$56,273 to $67,528 per year.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
