Position Overview
The Penn State Abington Launch Box seeks a Launch Box Amplifier Intern who will report to the Abington Launch Box Director. The intern will support the Launch Box’s events, workshops, and physical spaces, including the IDEA Zone, Amplification Lab, and Mini Makerspace.
Responsibilities- Be available and dedicated during scheduled work hours.
- Communicate information about Launch Box events and workshops.
- Support Launch Box physical spaces and labs.
- Maintain and update the Launch Box events calendar.
- Create and update marketing and educational materials.
- Full‑time undergraduate student at Penn State Abington, preferably with at least 60 credits (third‑year standing).
- GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Demonstrated self‑direction, leadership, organization, and interaction skills through prior employment or academic achievement.
- Successful completion of required Pennsylvania public‑service clearances (Child Abuse History Clearance, State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal History Background Check).
- High‑level written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to create marketing and presentation materials.
- Experience or proficiency with one or more of the following digital skills: 3D printing and vinyl cutting machine operation (Adobe Illustrator, Tinkercad, Fusion 360, Cura), video capture and editing (Adobe Premiere), audio capture and editing (Adobe Audition), marketing material development (Adobe Express, Adobe InDesign, Canva).
Available hours are negotiable based on the candidate’s schedule; the position is estimated at 10 to 20 hours per week.
