The RoleThe Director, Commercial Marketing is responsible for building the marketing capabilities, tools, insights, and programs that enable LXO’s Market Access Team to accelerate customer adoption, utilization, and growth across hospital and ambulatory care markets.
This is a highly collaborative, hands‑on role spanning brand planning, market insights, customer segmentation, field enablement, content development, agency management, congress strategy, KOL engagement, analytics, and promotional execution.
The ideal candidate understands the complexity of hospital and ASC adoption and can translate clinical evidence, customer insights, and operational needs into programs that support formulary access, stakeholder alignment, and sustained utilization.
You will work closely with the GM, Regional Account Directors, Medical Affairs, and Commercial Operations to translate customer insights and market opportunities into actionable plans, resources, and programs that strengthen commercial execution.
This role requires someone equally comfortable identifying opportunities, shaping strategy, and executing the details.
Brand Strategy & Commercial Planning- Develop and execute integrated commercial plans across the portfolio, including annual brand planning, positioning and messaging, competitive intelligence, and commercialization plans for hospital and ASC accounts.
- Build market segmentation and account prioritization strategies.
- Translate customer insights, market dynamics, clinical evidence, and business performance into commercial priorities.
- Establish brand strategies connecting clinical value, operational impact, and customer needs.
- Partner closely with the Market Access Team to understand customer needs and develop tools and resources that improve field effectiveness.
- Participate in field rides and customer visits.
- Develop customer messaging, account insights, clinical education resources, and field tools.
- Develop hospital adoption resources supporting P&T committees, pharmacy leaders, anesthesia departments, and perioperative teams.
- Use field feedback and analytics to identify growth opportunities.
- Measure impact through field effectiveness, adoption, utilization, and business growth.
- Lead brand campaigns, digital initiatives, field resources, clinical education, congress strategy, KOL engagement, speaker programs, promotional content, and agency relationships.
- Develop field tools, customer education materials, P&T resources, and commercial playbooks.
- Ensure promotional compliance.
- Build marketing analytics capabilities.
- Maintain dashboards and performance reporting.
- Own marketing budget strategy and ROI.
- Clear commercial strategies and market segmentation.
- Marketing. Market Access, and Commercial Operations operating as one integrated commercial team.
- Marketing providing insights, tools, resources, and programs that accelerate adoption.
- Strong hospital adoption strategies supporting formulary access and utilization.
- Marketing investments linked to measurable business outcomes.
- Improved analytics and scalable marketing processes.
- 8+ years of pharmaceutical commercial experience.
- 5+ years leading U.S. pharmaceutical brand, commercial marketing, or commercialization initiatives.
- Success commercializing hospital-administered pharmaceutical products including formulary adoption and P&T engagement.
- Track record driving adoption from access approval through sustained utilization.
- Experience in entrepreneurial pharma organizations.
- Strong commercialization, segmentation, analytics, and field enablement skills.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration.
- ~10% travel.
- MBA or advanced degree.
- Perioperative, anesthesia, PACU, pharmacy, or surgical services experience.
- Experience engaging anesthesiologists, perioperative clinicians, pharmacy leaders, P&T committees, and health systems.
- Hospital specialty pharmaceutical background.
- Experience partnering with Market Access/Field teams.
