Job Summary

An EDA Graphic Design Intern will gain hands-on experience in all stages of the creative process and will help develop, expand, and maintain visual assets across various platforms. Working closely with a team of marketing professionals, and a dedicated design mentor, you will build expertise and apply real-world design principles using the latest tools and techniques. Beyond design execution, you'll also gain exposure to broader marketing and communications functions, developing the well-rounded skill set that modern marketing designers need to thrive.

The ideal intern is a creative, enthusiastic self-starter with a sharp eye for design and strong communication skills. You work independently as well as collaboratively to bring ideas to life, supporting projects from initial concept through final execution. You're excited by new challenges, adaptable to shifting priorities and deadlines, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. You're looking to gain experience in areas such as branding, digital design, print collateral, presentation design, and multimedia content as well as the strategic marketing and communications work that informs great design.

This is an in-person role.

Responsibilities for Graphic Design & Marketing Intern
  • Assist in creating visual assets for external-facing marketing initiatives, including digital ads, social media graphics, email templates, and website content
  • Design and publish visual content for EDA's intranet and external website in alignment with brand guidelines
  • Support the creation of compelling visuals for media pitches and earned media opportunities
  • Maintain and organize the digital asset library, ensuring design files are up-to-date, version-controlled, and easily accessible
  • Contribute to the development of visual concepts for marketing campaigns and brand strategy proposals
  • Visit and photograph EDA jobsites, editing and preparing images for use across internal and external platforms
  • Monitor design trends and social media visual styles to keep EDA's creative content fresh and relevant
  • Support the planning and design of materials for marketing and culture events (e.g. signage, presentations, giveaways)
  • Assist the communications and marketing teams with content development, campaign coordination, and project management tasks
  • Support marketing analytics efforts by helping track campaign performance and compile reporting materials
  • Participate in marketing strategy meetings and brainstorming sessions to understand how design fits into broader business objectives
  • Help manage marketing calendars, timelines, and cross-functional project workflows
  • Other design and creative projects as assigned by the VP of Marketing

Qualifications
  • Student pursuing a degree in graphic design, visual communication, digital media, marketing, or a related field
  • Familiarity with design principles and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Ability to multitask, take initiative on creative projects, solve problems, and communicate updates to key stakeholders
  • Interest in learning about digital marketing, communications strategy, and how design supports broader business goals
  • Experience with content creation and visual storytelling is a plus
