Associate Director - Pharma Market Research

A specialist healthcare market research agency working exclusively within the pharmaceutical space. Science, strategy and human insight is what they do. Through qualitative and quantitative research, they generate the intelligence that helps bring new medicines to market across therapeutic areas including oncology, neuroscience, immunology and diabetes. It is meaningful, high-impact work.

We are looking for an experienced qualitative researcher at Associate Director level. This is a senior, client-facing position for someone who is as comfortable leading a focus group or in-depth interview, writing proposals, presenting findings, and nurturing a long-term client relationship.

You will take ownership of the full research lifecycle: from design and fieldwork through to analysis and delivery across multiple projects simultaneously. You will work closely with pharmaceutical and biotech clients at critical stages of product development, helping them answer the strategic questions that matter most.

• Design, manage and deliver high-quality custom ad hoc qualitative research projects end to end
• Moderate online and in-person in-depth interviews and focus groups across a range of healthcare audiences
• Partner with clients to develop creative research solutions that address real business challenges
• Build and nurture strong client relationships, with responsibility for generating repeat business
• Contribute to new business development and work towards an annual sales target
• Travel to clients in person as required

• 5 years of pharmaceutical qualitative market research experience within a primary market research consultancy
• Hands-on experience across a range of research approaches including positioning, message testing, concept testing, patient journey mapping, segmentation and exploratory qualitative work
• Comfortable with a seller-doer model; confident managing client relationships and bringing in repeat business
• Strong proposal writing and presentation skills
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to working with internal teams and external clients
• Understanding of quantitative research processes and how they complement qualitative programmes
• Able to work hybrid (2 days a week in the office), if living within a commutable distance (multiple offices across the country)
• Must have the full right to work in the USA now and in the future without sponsorship
• $90,000 – $100,000 base salary plus discretionary bonus
