Assistant Pastor of Missions and Evangelism:
Proclamation Presbyterian Church
The Assistant Pastor of Missions and Evangelism will lead the congregation in proclaiming Christ to the lost—both locally and globally—through intentional evangelism, faithful missionary support, and active community engagement. He will embody and promote a culture of gospel urgency, equipping the church to make disciples of all nations while lovingly engaging the Western Suburbs of Philadelphia with the hope of Christ.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Oversee and encourage the church’s involvement in foreign missions, fostering relationships with missionaries and mission agencies.
- Lead the Missions Committee to oversee faith‑filled support and sending of gospel laborers to the nations.
- Coordinate short‑term mission opportunities, missionary care, and prayer efforts.
- Communicate a compelling vision for the global mission of God, encouraging members to consider their role in taking the gospel to all peoples.
- Model intentional personal evangelism, actively seeking opportunities to share the gospel in everyday life and within the local community.
- Train and equip the congregation to confidently and compassionately share their faith, fostering a church culture where pastors and members together boldly proclaim Jesus as Savior and King.
- Provide oversight and support for evangelism and outreach initiatives, ensuring all efforts are grounded in gospel truth, prayer, and wise engagement with community needs.
- Collaborate with local ministries and organizations to strengthen gospel witness and create avenues for service and outreach in the Western Suburbs of Philadelphia.
- Participate in the preaching and teaching ministry of the church as needed, under the direction of the Senior Pastor.
- Assist in planning worship services and seasonal mission emphases, reinforcing the church’s evangelistic and missional identity.
Qualifications:
- Ordained or ordainable in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
- MDiv or equivalent theological training; a deep commitment to Reformed theology and the Westminster Standards.
- Demonstrated passion for evangelism and missions, with experience in training others and leading outreach initiatives.
- Warm, relational, pastorally intelligent, and persuasive communicator of the gospel.
- Skilled in both local engagement and cross‑cultural missions strategy.
- Collaborative spirit, joyful submission to elder leadership, and love for the Church and the lost.
