CORE Susquehanna Ameri Corps

ORE Susquehanna Ameri Corps is a regional service program dedicated to strengthening Central Pennsylvania communities through volunteerism, leadership, and capacity building. Each year, Ameri Corps members serve at nonprofit organizations, schools, and community agencies to address local needs in areas such as education, environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, and community well-being. Members gain valuable hands-on experience while making a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Through their service, they help expand programs, increase volunteer engagement, and enhance the ability of organizations to serve more people effectively. In return, members receive professional development, mentorship, and opportunities to build skills that prepare them for future careers in the nonprofit, public, or private sectors. CORE Susquehanna Ameri Corps also fosters collaboration among its host sites, strengthening networks across the region and promoting a shared vision of civic engagement and service.

Member Duties :
Ameri Corps members with CORE Susquehanna serve at local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations to meet critical needs across Central Pennsylvania. Their service may include supporting education programs, coordinating volunteers, assisting with community outreach, improving environmental spaces, or developing resources that strengthen local initiatives. Members help expand the capacity of their host sites by building sustainable systems, increasing program reach, and directly supporting individuals and families.

Through this work, members gain professional experience, leadership skills, and a deeper connection to their communities-all while making a meaningful impact.
