At Community Action Lehigh Valley, we’re looking for a strategic thinker and strong writer to join our team as a Planner/Grant Writer. This role is ideal for experienced nonprofit professionals who are eager to advance social change through planning, advocacy, and resource development. You’ll play a key role in shaping innovative programs and securing critical funding that directly impacts individuals and families across the Lehigh Valley.
YourImpact as Planner/Grant Writer
As our Planner/Grant Writer, you’ll work alongside agency leadership and program directors to support the development, funding, and evaluation of life‑changing programs. You’ll write grants that fuel our work, build partnerships that strengthen our impact, and research community needs, craft strategic plans, and engage with coalitions driving long‑term change. Your problem‑solving skills and commitment to equity will help turn ideas into actionable, sustainable solutions.
ResponsibilitiesYou will:
- Write and manage grant proposals to secure funding for programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with funding partners and community coalitions.
- Research community needs and trends to inform program planning.
- Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with mission goals.
- Collaborate with program directors to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Advocate for equitable policies and low‑income community empowerment.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in a writing‑intensive or social sciences program (master’s preferred).
- 2‑3 years of experience in program development and fund development, especially grant writing.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A proven track record in the nonprofit space or equivalent experience.
- Commitment to equity and a passion for community‑driven change.
