RN/LPN Substitutes

Immediate need for substitute nurses/health assistants to be called on an as needed basis.

Assist the School Nurse in carrying out all the functions of the district's health services and meeting the needs of the students.

Provide acute care/first aid to students and staff. Complete state mandated health screenings, which includes height, weight, vision, and hearing and refer as needed. Complete scoliosis screening and refer as needed. Record health histories, screening results, immunization records, and any medical changes/updates in student health records. Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding health concerns, which may affect student's learning process, results of screenings, mandatory health examinations, or any acute illness or injury to student.

Maintain communication with faculty/staff regarding student health conditions and give instruction; plan educational programs for faculty/staff. Complete state health report at the end of the year. Provide instructional programs for students, staff, and parents regarding first aide and medical conditions. Responsible for dispensing medication as prescribed by a physician. Schedule and assist with school physical examinations and school dental examinations.

Complete lice checks on all elementary level students and on any other student as needed. Complete monthly maintenance checks on AED. Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and clerical supplies and stock supplies when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the School Nurse.

Qualfifications:
Positions require PA RN or LPN license.
Valid CPR certificate
