Location: Spring Grove
Position Overview
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work PM shifts, including every other weekend and holiday. Full‑time shifts work 80 hours bi‑weekly.
Primary Responsibilities- Work closely under the supervision of a licensed Nurse.
- Perform basic patient care under general supervision of an RN in the acute hospital setting.
- Transport and transfer patients safely within the medical complex.
- Assist with data collection and documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Provide basic care in nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility, and safety.
- Assist nursing staff in lifting and ambulating patients using appropriate practice guidelines.
- Participate in CNA meetings and unit staff meetings.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to continuously improve patient care and unit operations.
- Perform other job‑related responsibilities as requested by the Director of Nursing.
- Maintain environment and equipment.
- Demonstrate dependability, organizational skills, and effective use of time.
- Adhere to Gundersen Health System Mission statement, policies and confidentiality standards.
- Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Minnesota.
- Current infant‑adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands‑on learning) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, push, pull, reach, and squat regularly.
- Competent in basic computer use and familiar with electronic medical record systems.
- Flexible and adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
If you do not have a CNA certification, we will pay for full‑funded training. Upon certification you may start as a Nursing Assistant.
What You Will Get- $19.57 per hour (or $18.57 per hour until certification).
