Licensed Practical Nurse - FPMA Primary Care - McMurray

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This job provides quality care to patients and families to promote health and prevent disease under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.

• Perform general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards. (30%)
• Assist with the preparation of equipment and assist the physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination and testing of patients. (20%)
• Collect assessment data, prepare patient for examination and document clinical information on the patient record. (20%)
• Order diagnostic tests as directed by registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and gather diagnostic tests and/or examine results prior to assessment. (20%)
• Schedule procedures and obtain authorizations as necessary. (5%)
• May give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing. (5%)
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

• Minimum High school diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Current state licensure as an LPN OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Criminal Background Clearance Certificate (Act 33, Child Abuse Clearance, Act 73, FBI Fingerprinting).
• Preferred 1 year healthcare experience.
• State approved IV course certification.
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process.
• PALS or ACLS may be required based on the specific area of practice.
