Licensed Practice Nurse responsible for patient assessment, planning, and direct care in the office under physician supervision.
Supervises the clinical area, provides patient education, answers medical questions, reviews laboratory and test results, and handles medical emergencies.
Prepares nursing notes, history & physicals, and scheduling using the practice’s computer system.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and administer direct patient care.
- Supervise the clinical area and assist with procedures.
- Provide patient education and answer medical questions.
- Review laboratory and test reports.
- Handle medical emergencies.
- Document nursing notes and H&P’s.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current LPN license to practice in Pennsylvania.
- At least two years of experience in a physician office.
- Strong knowledge of the Greenway physician office software (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of e-prescribing, prior authorization processes, and insurance procedures.
- Background in physician office practice and adult/child medicine.
- Excellent communication, organizational and patient confidentiality skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and improve departmental performance.
- Phlebotomy training preferred (not required).
- Stand and walk 50% of the time; frequent exertion for positioning, lifting, or moving patients and equipment.
- Bending, squatting, twisting, and kneeling; use of a chair for sitting.
- Reach up to 2 feet overhead and respond rapidly to emergencies.
- Visual acuity with color perception for reading fine print and monitoring patient condition.
- Auditory acuity for phone conversations, overhead pages, alarms, and vital signs.
- Manual dexterity for checking pulses, temperatures, and starting IVs.
- Ability to establish priorities and coordinate duties with others.
- Manage pressure to meet deadlines and handle changing situations.
- Create a positive work environment and handle conflicts.
- Communicate verbally and in writing professionally.
- Acquire new skills and knowledge for essential job functions.
- Analyze and give/receive information effectively.
- 40-hour workweek; days; hours may vary according to practice needs.
- Exposure to electrical current, infectious diseases, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Use of various medical equipment for patient testing, documentation, and communication.
