Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems through outcome identification and evidence‑based practice. Coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with the healthcare team, patients, and/or patients’ families or significant others. Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
Position Responsibilities- Perform gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary assessments of patients, leading to development, implementation, and evaluation of a plan of care.
- Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimes related to wound, ostomy, or continence care.
- Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
- Participate in clinical decision‑making.
- Educate patients and family/responsible parties regarding disease process, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
- Delegate and monitor care rendered by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
- Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
- Participate in orientation, education, and development of healthcare team.
- Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Maintain professional and departmental level competencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve highest clinical quality.
- Review patient cases and implement evidence‑based practice to affect patient outcomes.
- Develop and present recommendations to nursing leadership for best practice that supports nursing excellence.
- Valid NJ RN license, presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board.
- Current board certification as a WOC (ET) nurse (CWOCN) by the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board, or enrollment in an accredited WOCN ET program with certification within 12 months of hire.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate efforts of a care team.
- Current proof of driver’s license and auto insurance if the position requires travel within the hospital system.
BSN required.
CompensationHourly Rate: $45.64 – $61.91. The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
