Avon Grove is seeking a highly qualified, student-centered Certified School Nurse to serve our high school community. The successful candidate will promote and maintain the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of students while supporting a safe and healthy learning environment. The Certified School Nurse will work collaboratively with students, families, staff, healthcare providers, and community agencies to ensure student health needs are addressed and barriers to learning are minimized.

What

You'll Do
  • Provide direct nursing services to students and respond to medical emergencies.
  • Assess, monitor, and manage student health conditions, including chronic and acute illnesses.
  • Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans, emergency action plans, and related health documentation.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, district policy, and state regulations.
  • Conduct health screenings and coordinate follow-up care as required by Pennsylvania regulations.
  • Monitor immunization compliance and maintain accurate student health records.
  • Participate as a member of multidisciplinary teams, including IEP, Section 504, Student Assistance Program (SAP), and threat assessment teams.
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and community agencies to support student health and wellness.
  • Provide health education and consultation to students, staff, and families.
  • Promote disease prevention, infection control, and school-wide wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and district policies.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Department of Education.
  • Serve as a resource to administrators and staff regarding student health concerns and health-related accommodations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications
  • Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification - certified School Nurse (PK-12)
  • Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Current CPR/AED Certification
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to student health services, including Section 504, IDEA, FERPA, and Pennsylvania School Health regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
