DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on helping residents with daily care needs in a safe and respectful environment. As a part-time Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:

* Daily Care:
Support residents with tasks such as bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility, and other daily needs based on their care plans

* Safety Measures:
Apply basic safety devices and report hazards, unusual behavior, and equipment issues to nursing staff

* Resident Observation:
Watch for changes in resident condition and share important information with professional staff

* Room Maintenance:
Keep resident rooms clean and organized and assist with linen changes and supply restocking

* Resident Transport:
Escort and move residents safely to appointments, activities, and other locations

* Record Keeping:
Document care and services accurately to meet state and facility requirements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

* Part-time employment, 8 hours per day, 20 hours per week

* Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and weekends.

* 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM)

* 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM)

* 3rd shift (11:15 PM to 7:45 AM)

* You will be required to work every other weekend.

* Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.

* Hourly Rate:
In some cases, the starting hourly rate may be non-negotiable.

* DMVA is pleased to announce the launch of a Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania's veterans homes. Under this program, both referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for payments of up to $4,000.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

* Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or

* Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

* This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirement:

* You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

* A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

* This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

* Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
