Provide professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies. Direct and manage the care of designated patients, maintain a safe work environment, and demonstrate clinical competency appropriate to the patient population.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients.
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and resolve patient needs proactively.
• Synthesize data, information, and knowledge to make decisions that optimize patient outcomes based on ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics.
• Apply commitment to quality and safety through evidence‑based practice, following established policies and procedures.
• Participate in evidence‑based practice and research projects as applicable.
• Use effective verbal and non‑verbal communication with patients, families, visitors, staff, and colleagues.
• Coordinate and provide patient and family education throughout treatment to facilitate an effective transition of care.
• Support unit and hospital goals as a department team member, contributing to performance improvement and organizational patient‑experience objectives.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to the clinical specialty and unit practice, utilizing technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery.
• Demonstrate leadership and team‑building skills, including teaching, mentoring, and precepting new colleagues; delegate based on skills, acuity, and team availability.
• Provide input for performance appraisals of care‑delivery team members.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in patient‑care delivery.
• Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty.
• Maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.
• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support – State of Pennsylvania certification.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) – State of Pennsylvania.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

• Lift and carry 40‑50 lbs.
• Push/pull patients on bed or stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force); lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of patient weight.
• Frequent to continuous standing/walking; patient transporters may walk 8‑10 miles per shift.
• May require kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
