Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at an acute care facility, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a PA or compact RN license.

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• BSN not required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred but not required
• COVID vaccine required
• Med/Surg experience required

• Acute care hospital Med/Surg unit with 33 beds and 16 telemetry monitors
• Patient population includes orthopedic (total knee and total hip), bariatric (gastric sleeve and gastrectomy), CHF, COPD, TIA, and cardiac cath patients requiring intervention
• Target patient ratio of 6:1
• CCU staff and supervisors on each shift are available to read telemetry monitor strips
• MEDITECH EMR used in this position
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3x12s per week
• Block scheduling is available for traveling nurses
• Weekend scheduling is flexible - every other weekend or as fits the schedule
• 13-week contract
• Provide nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical population including post-surgical, cardiac, and pulmonary patients
• No scrub color preference; scrubs are not provided by the facility
