Patient Care and Communication
+ Apply the nursing process to deliver holistic, patient centered care
+ Partner with patients and families to develop and achieve care goals
+ Communicate clearly with the care team and advocate for appropriate care decisions
+ Maintain accurate, thorough documentation that supports continuity of care
+ Demonstrate critical thinking across clinical, social, safety, and psychosocial needs
+ Deliver compassionate care that enhances the patient experience
Clinical Leadership and Professional Practice
+ Lead and support team initiatives that enhance patient care and the work environment
+ Participate in shared governance and hospital wide councils
+ Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, assessment, and analytical skills
Relationship Based Care and Team Collaboration
+ Promote a healthy, respectful workplace culture
+ Build strong, collaborative relationships across the care team
+ Demonstrate cultural awareness and address workplace concerns appropriately
+ Balance priorities through effective delegation and time management
Quality Improvement and Evidence Based Practice
+ Identify and support opportunities to improve clinical quality and workplace practices
+ Incorporate evidence based practice into daily work
+ Participate in or lead initiatives that drive innovation and improve outcomes
Education and Professional Development
+ Precept and mentor students, graduate nurses, and new hires
+ Identify learning opportunities to improve care and team performance
+ Seek and apply feedback to support continuous improvement
+ Promote ongoing learning through education, research sharing, and unit-based development activities
+ Minimum 3 years of RN experience
+ BSN preferred
+ UPMC approved nursing certification required
+ Certification not required with MSN or DNP
+ Master's in related field may substitute if BSN is held
+ Completion of one My Nursing Career Ladder contribution required
+ Current PA RN licensure or multistate license
+ BLS or CPR certification (AHA) required within 30 days

+ Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

+ Meets or exceeds 'Solid' performance rating to obtain and maintain role
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to stand, walk, lift, and position patients
+ Manual dexterity and visual acuity required
