Nemours Nursing Leadership Position
Nemours is seeking a nurse leader to facilitate, coordinate, and direct patient care services and provide leadership for designated areas of responsibility. The role involves planning, development, and utilization of human and material resources to meet departmental needs, mentoring and developing staff, managing the environment of practice, and demonstrating commitment to leading in adherence with the principles of the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Magnet model.
The position also requires participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation. Leadership includes strategic planning, ensuring evidence-based care delivery, benchmarked quality patient service and outcomes, experience with LEAN methodology for continuous improvement, well-developed change management skills, and fiscal stewardship.
Essential functions include participating in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making, advocating on behalf of patients/families and personnel, fostering a non-discriminatory climate, integrating policy and procedure development with regulations, standards, and clinical guidelines, facilitating staff participation in nursing and organizational policy formation and decision-making, accepting organizational accountability for services provided to patients and families, directing, supervising, and evaluating the delivery of patient care, planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the systems of nursing, identifying short and long-term goals, assuming 24-hour responsibility, evaluating the quality and appropriateness of care, providing guidance for and supervision of personnel accountable to the nurse manager, coordinating nursing services with the services of other health care disciplines, participating in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel, assuming responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel, assuring appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development for personnel, evaluating the performance of personnel, participating in planning and monitoring the budget for defined areas of responsibility, and participating in and involving the staff in evaluative research activities.
