Community Clinical Educator

The Community Clinical Educator is responsible for the coordination, tracking, and evaluation of the education of licensed and non-licensed clinical care team members in compliance with Ever True Clinical Education Council standards and State and Federal regulations. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a member of the Clinical Education council and participating in council activities such as the Ever True Annual Symposium
  • Providing education and training at assigned Ever True community or communities as designated by the Clinical Education Council
  • Providing education and training to all levels of care
  • Delivering an orientation program which includes assessment and skills validation to assure each new team member is adequately prepared to perform their assigned clinical role
  • Supporting the clinical practices related to documentation using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) during the orientation process and ongoing as identified by staff requests, supervisor recommendation, and/or periodic audits
  • Monitoring and evaluating clinical education needs in collaboration with assigned community leadership
  • Coordinating education with other Ever True departments for community-required training such as safety and HIPAA compliance
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and delivering clinical education accordingly in preparation for annual state surveys
  • Delivering clinical education to address items identified by state surveyors both annually and as needed
  • Serving as an informational resource for a specific area of expertise as assigned by the Director of Workplace Education and Development, e.g., dementia training, infection control, fall prevention, etc.
  • Participating in the Clinical Education Council and other committees related to education and other training initiatives
  • Assisting with identifying educational needs both system wide and at the community/service line levels; working with the Director of Workplace Education and Development on the development of formal curriculum to meet the needs of both the individual community and/or Ever True system
  • Participating in the design and development of education and training for all clinical direct line, supervisory and leadership employees
  • Remaining current on all training requirements per regulatory agencies, as well as all clinical tools utilized by an Ever True clinician, e.g., glucometers, medical equipment, etc.
  • Serving as a content expert for all the clinical policy and procedures and is able to assist in explaining them to all clinicians when applicable
  • Coordinating training sessions with community leadership and Human Resources Managers, specifically new employee orientation for clinicians
  • Traveling to multiple Ever True sites bringing training sessions to employees
  • Preparing all needed communications for training sessions
  • Maintaining record system by inputting and tracking employee participation

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Current Licensed Practican Nurse (LPN) license required;
    Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred
  • Previous experience in presenting and coordinating training programs in long term care preferred
  • Must be CPR BLS (basic life support) certified with the American Red Cross
  • CNA and CMT instructor training preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Very good communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills to include Internet and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
