DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring PA or compact RN licensure and prior travel experience.
Details- Labor and Delivery unit at a teaching hospital
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- 13-week assignment
- No floating required
- Every 3rd weekend required, with Friday/Saturday night weekend coverage
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage required for at least 1 of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
- Patient ratio of 1-2
- Epic EMR used, preferred experience
- Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
- BSN required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
- AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate certification required (Advanced preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required due to high acuity and fast-paced unit
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, and management of high-risk deliveries
- Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns
- PA fingerprint clearance (Childline and FBI) required within 1 week of contract signing
- Valid references and certification copies required for consideration
- Pass/Fail clinical exam required for consideration, with a maximum of 3 attempts
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Support high-risk obstetrical patients including preeclampsia, placenta previa, and multiple gestations
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including VBAC management
- Manage medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation support
- Scrubs are provided
- Local candidates accepted within 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and cannot be added afterward
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this position due to unit acuity
