Nursing Assistant – Skilled Nursing Unit (SNU) - Full Time

$5,000.00 sign-on bonus if eligible

The Nursing Assistant works under the direction of the professional nursing staff to provide direct resident care within the Skilled Nursing Unit. This role assists residents with activities of daily living, supports individualized care plans, and helps maintain a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for residents and their families.

1. Compliance with rules and regulations of all federal, state, and local governments is a requirement of employment.
2. Provides direct care to assure resident comfort.
3. Participates in team conferences and care planning.
4. Prepares residents for meals, assists in feeding.

7. Reports to appropriate nursing personnel pertinent information including any changes observed in condition or behavior of resident.
8. Provides input into resident care plans.

Keeps informed of fire, safety, and disaster programs. 14. Attends designated in-service programs. 15. Participates in Performance Improvement activities. 16. Attends staff meetings.

Caregivers must be active participants in quality improvement processes:
Identifying areas where quality improvement processes can be applied Collecting & organizing quality measurement data Participate on quality teams

Daily contact with clients at all levels, including managers and employees

Occasionally required to push, move, and/or lift 100+ pounds Occasionally required to push, move and/or lift object weighing up to 60 pounds Considerable walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting and sitting

Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or other tissues and communicable diseases. Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous nursing assistant experience preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication. Must follow universal precautions and utilize proper body mechanics. Maintains CPR certification. Act 34 Criminal Background Check required.

Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Certification required within 120 days of hire through verified reciprocity or successful completion of a CNA training program. CPR/AED Certification required.
