The Hill Country Trapper/Guide is one of the cultural leaders of the Hill Country team, responsible for customer satisfaction and being a strong proponent of the Orvis brand and the company culture. This position assists in all upland bird and sporting clays responsibilities.

This position reports directly to the Hill Country General Manager. The position will also interface daily with Retail/Office Manager, Front Desk Staff, Retail associates, and other on-call guides, trappers, and instructors.
Performance MeasurementsPerformance will be evaluated on the position responsibilities and customer service levels.
General Responsibilities- Maintain the customer service levels on all hunting and/or shooting activities;
- Assist with upland and clay membership activities;
- Conduct land, vehicle, and clubhouse maintenance;
- Provide support to all other Orvis adventure departments at Hill Country as needed.
- Grounds keeping and maintenance (lawns, ponds, kennels, course, buildings, equipment, etc.);
- Trapper for clays when needed;
- Clay Course support such as stocking, maintenance, tournaments and any other required assistance;
- Bird inventory – feeding, watering, pen maintenance;
- Maintenance of dog kennels- cleaning, maintenance, repairs, feeding dogs, etc.
- Physical strength for hard outdoor work and physical activities;
- Knowledge of operating safely: lawn mowers, tractors, and other farming equipment;
- Flexibility in scheduled work days to coincide with club activities – weekend availability is required;
