Who We Are
At Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic, pets and people are family.
Family-owned since 1973, PVVC is a 10‑doctor small animal hospital in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. We have been recognized as the Observer‑Reporter’s Best of the Best Veterinarian every year since 2019, reflecting our commitment to excellent medicine, exceptional client service, and a culture built on trust and respect.
Core Values- Give Your Best
- Be Fair & Be Honest
- Have Grace & Have Respect
- Create Individualized Gold Standards
- Support Empowerment & Growth
We practice comprehensive small animal medicine supported by strong in‑house diagnostics, including:
- Digital radiography (including dental radiographs)
- In‑house laboratory equipment
- Ultrasound (abdominal and echocardiograms)
- Endoscopy for diagnostics, foreign body retrieval, and colonoscopy
Our surgical caseload ranges between routine spays and neuters to mass removals and exploratory foreign‑body surgeries. To see a full list, please visit our website.
We approach every case thoughtfully, creating individualized plans that reflect the unique needs of each patient and family.
We are fortunate to serve a client base that values comprehensive care and is receptive to diagnostics and recommended treatment plans, allowing our doctors to practice high‑quality, thorough medicine.
We manage the majority of cases in‑house while maintaining strong referral relationships when specialty care is indicated.
Our greatest strength is our mentorship. Our doctors actively support one another, particularly new graduates. We have successfully mentored and retained four new graduates over the past seven years. We intentionally invest in our doctors’ clinical interests, whether that means expanding surgical skills, developing a specialized skill set, or pursuing advanced training. We believe that when our doctors grow, our hospital grows with them.
Whether you are a new graduate seeking guidance or an experienced veterinarian looking for a collaborative, collegial environment, PVVC provides the support and opportunity to practice with confidence.
