Landscape Technician
This is a seasonal position with potential for permanent placement at the end of the season. This is a full-time opportunity paying $18.69 per hour, with a schedule of 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
As a member of the Turfgrass Management team, the Landscape Technician works on a diverse range of activities involved in Turfgrass management and construction. The candidate in this role will be responsible for semi-skilled golf course construction, routine maintenance work, and perform related tasks as required to maintain perfect playing conditions.
Essential functions include maintaining all areas of the golf course by operating a walk-behind mower or a riding mower, performing daily set-up of golf course, installing drainage and irrigation as instructed, applying the correct amount of water to turf and landscaping planting as directed by supervisor, safely and properly operating light motorized vehicles and company trucks, preparing areas for seed and sod and applying seed or sod in the proper manner, properly raking bunkers either by hand or machine, removing trash and debris from all areas of the property, assisting the supervisor in training all new associates on safety and proper equipment operation, monitoring moisture on greens, tee fairways, rough, trees, etc.,
operating and applying fertilizer using a walk behind fertilizer spreader, operating all equipment on the golf course and helping wherever necessary, and keeping work areas and equipment clean.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include the ability to speak English, basic understanding of Turfgrass Management and the Rules of Golf, ability to follow written and oral instructions, possession of a valid driver's license, ability to respond to common inquiries or needs of members and guests, familiarity with fertilization techniques and proper spreader operation, and ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.
