King of Prussia Veterinary Hospital is a 4‑doctor community‑oriented hospital providing high‑quality medicine in a small animal general practice setting.
Externship Responsibilities
- Gather patient histories
- Perform physical examinations
- Create treatment plans
- Conduct diagnostics
- Provide dentistry services
- Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures
- Manage medical care of patients
- Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients
The externship duration typically ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
