The world has changed, so we’ve reimagined what it looks like to be a full-time veterinarian.
McKean Veterinary Hospital has grown from a mobile large-animal practice founded in 1998 into a full-service veterinary hospital caring for dogs, cats, and small mammals. Today, our team provides comprehensive medical and surgical care with a focus on clear communication, practical guidance, and taking the time to understand each pet’s individual needs.
We’re looking for a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian to join our team and help us continue providing thoughtful, compassionate care to the pets and families of McKean and the greater Erie area. This is an opportunity for a veterinarian who values strong client relationships, quality medicine, and a down-to-earth approach to patient care.
Why McKean Veterinary Hospital? At McKean Veterinary Hospital, we provide care throughout every stage of a pet’s life, from wellness exams, vaccinations, and parasite prevention to dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, and treatment of more complex medical conditions. Our hospital offers on-site laboratory testing, digital radiography, and ultrasound to help our doctors get answers efficiently and make informed treatment decisions.
Our surgical capabilities include routine procedures as well as soft-tissue, orthopedic, oral, urinary, and other more advanced procedures. When a case requires care beyond what we provide in-house, our team works to connect clients with a trusted specialist.
We also care for small mammals and provide specialized dental care for small pets such as rabbits and rodents, giving veterinarians the opportunity to see a diverse range of patients.
Our LocationMcKean offers a quieter community setting while keeping the amenities and recreation of Erie close by. Spend your time outdoors at McKean Community Park, head into Erie for a day along the waterfront, or explore Presque Isle State Park, where you can hike, bike, swim, fish, and enjoy Lake Erie. Erie Bluffs State Park is another nearby destination, with Lake Erie shoreline, 90-foot bluffs, and plenty of space to get outside.
