The Arborist Climber role is a full-time, on-site position based in McDonald, PA. Day-to-day responsibilities include climbing trees safely to perform pruning, cabling and bracing, and removals in accordance with industry standards and company procedures. The Arborist Climber will operate and maintain tree care equipment, assist with job site setup and cleanup, and support crew members to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Tasks also involve identifying tree health issues, implementing prescribed treatments, and following directions from a crew leader or arborist representative. The role requires adherence to all safety protocols, regular participation in training, and professional interaction with clients while representing Bartlett Tree Experts on site.

• Knowledge of arboriculture practices and experience working with trees in a professional setting.
• Skills in forestry and tree identification to assess species, structure, and health.
• Certified Arborist credential or progress toward certification, or equivalent experience in arboriculture.
• Ability to safely climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other equipment; comfort working at heights.
• Familiarity with pruning standards, cabling and bracing, and safe tree removal techniques.
• Strong commitment to safety, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company protocols.
• Physical fitness sufficient for climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to follow instructions and support crew operations.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; CDL or willingness to obtain one is beneficial.
• Prior experience in tree care, landscaping, or related outdoor work is preferred but not required.
