Role Description

As an Associate Veterinarian at Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital, you will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to companion animals in a general practice setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, developing treatment plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will communicate clearly with pet families, explain diagnostic findings and treatment options, and offer client education on preventive care, nutrition, and behavior.

The role also involves collaborating with veterinary technicians and support staff, overseeing anesthesia and pain management, and contributing to hospital protocols and standards of care. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Clark, PA. We offer 2-4 days a week work schedule with no overnights, call shifts or weekends!

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for Pennsylvania veterinary licensure.
  • Clinical skills in small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry, including physical exams, diagnostics, and routine procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and build trust with clients.
  • Ability to prioritize cases, manage time effectively, and make sound medical decisions in a busy clinical environment.
  • Commitment to compassionate, low-stress handling of animals and adherence to high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Interest in continuing education and staying current with advancements in veterinary medicine and preventive care.
  • Experience in general practice or small animal medicine is preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
