DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position coordinates recreational and leisure programs that support wellness, decision making, and structured engagement for inmates at SCI Greene. The role promotes positive participation through organized activities and reliable program leadership. As a Corrections Activities Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Coordination:
Plan, organize, and conduct structured activities, wellness programs, and athletic events - Activity Instruction:
Provide coaching, guidance, and officiating instruction for individual and group activities - Volunteer Oversight:
Direct staff and volunteers who assist with recreational programming - Program Evaluation:
Assess inmate interests, evaluate activities, and prepare program records and reports - Equipment Management:
Maintain facilities and equipment, oversee inmate setup and storage, and request needed supplies - General Recreation:
Supervise recreation periods when structured activities are not scheduled

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- his position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

- A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
