Schedule
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week). Shifts would be daylight or evening, alternating weekends/holidays & no call time.
Role OverviewConemaugh Miners Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. As a Lab Assistant joining our team, you will contribute to our mission of making communities healthier.
Responsibilities- Perform department‑specific waived and moderately complex testing under the direct supervision of a General Supervisor.
- Apply technical knowledge and skills necessary to maintain procedural quality standards.
- Order, process, test, issue, deliver, and discard products under the supervision of a General Supervisor.
- Perform routine computer operations, including ordering laboratory tests, data input, and specimen receipt.
- Accurately identify and label specimens.
- Perform preventative maintenance, equipment maintenance, and daily temperature checks according to the section's procedural manual.
- Draw venous and capillary samples from patients according to phlebotomy procedures and age‑specific needs of the patient.
- Work closely with laboratory and supervisory personnel.
- Frequent communication with nurses, physicians, and other personnel.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Report unsafe practices or conditions to the manager.
- Maintain effective and efficient use of reagents, chemicals, and supplies while ensuring adequate inventory in all daily work areas.
- Maintain appropriate commitment to the department schedule in terms of attendance and hours of work.
- Rotate section shifts and, with adequate training, rotate between sections as needed.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science. Additional requirements include:
- BLS/CPR within six months of hire.
