Job Purpose and Summary

In our retail pharmacies, Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team to deliver operational and service excellence. They are often the first point of contact, ensuring prescriptions are filled accurately and patients receive compassionate, personalized service.
Key Responsibilities- Support smooth pharmacy operations, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Assist pharmacists and staff in applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all pharmacy workstations (production, pick‑up, drive‑through, drop‑off).
- Deliver exceptional patient experience at pick‑up, drive‑through, and phone interactions; provide immunizations and other health services when authorized.
- Complete basic inventory tasks such as putting away medication deliveries, conducting cycle counts, returns‑to‑stacks, and waiting‑bin inventories.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and compliant pharmacy environment, following federal, state, local laws and CVS policies.
- Educate patients about vaccines and other health services when acting in an immunizer role, monitor for adverse reactions, and record necessary documentation.
- Travel flexibly to store locations within the market as needed.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between duties, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service and support team‑oriented collaboration.
- Use verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues; practice active listening.
- Apply mathematical reasoning to calculate dosages and dispense prescriptions accurately.
- Resolve customer and colleague interactions effectively when challenges arise.
- Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items.
- Reach overhead and extend arms to grasp items; move fingers repetitively.
- Stoop and bend to move objects between low and high positions.
- Maintain close visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing and inspecting small parts.
- Lift up to 20lbs and apply up to 20lbs of force; frequently lift up to 10lbs and apply up to 10lbs of force.
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- Be at least 16years old if no age minimum is specified by the board.
- Have a high school diploma, equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school.
- Meet state‑level licensure and national certification requirements; see state website for details.
- 1–3years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in retail, medical, or customer‑service settings.
- Ability to work both in the home store and across the market.
18 hours (part time).
Pay Range$18.90 – $28.90 per hour (or equivalent full‑time salary).
