Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You will be the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring, patient‑centered service.

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
• Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Provide empathetic, personalized moments to patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services at the register; resolve or elevate patient issues.
• Complete basic inventory activities—accurate put‑away of medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.—as directed by leadership.
• Contribute to a high‑performing team by embracing a growth mindset, accepting feedback, and expanding clinical and technical knowledge.
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores as required.
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
• Comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, controlled‑substance dispensing, recordkeeping, and privacy protection.
• Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) where legal and supported by required training and certification.
• When authorized, support immunization duties—including additional licensure and training, patient education, monitoring for adverse reactions, and vaccine supply management.
• Assist with additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice (age, education, licensure/certification).
• Minimum age of 16 years if not specified otherwise by the state board.
• At least a high school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in high school or equivalency program if not required otherwise.
• State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
• Strong attention to task, focus, and the ability to pivot quickly from one task to another.
• Customer‑service orientation with friendly, helpful demeanor; ability to respond appropriately to patient reactions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and the ability to ask clarifying questions.
• Basic mathematical reasoning for dosage calculations and inventory management.
• Problem‑resolution skills to handle challenging patient or colleague interactions.
• Mobile and able to remain upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; and perform repetitive finger tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally; 10 lbs frequently.
• Other tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.

• 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
• Ability to work in the home store and travel across the market to meet business needs.

• Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
• Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; perform repetitive finger tasks.
• Stoop, bend, and move items between low and high positions.
• Consistently lift or exert negligible force to move objects.

Anticipated weekly hours: 40 (full time). Pay range: $16.50 – $25.00 hourly.
