Overview
Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer to support their search for a Piping Quality Lead to join their project based in Indiana on an initial 12-month contract.
Responsibilities- Oversee all piping quality activities during fabrication, installation, and testing phases.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, ASME standards, and applicable codes.
- Review and approve piping quality documentation, including ITPs, weld maps, and NDE reports.
- Monitor welding, hydrotesting, and flushing activities to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
- Conduct inspections and audits of piping systems and subcontractor work.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and QA/QC teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Support preparation for client and regulatory audits related to piping systems.
- Sufficient experience in piping quality management on large-scale industrial or pharmaceutical projects.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, welding procedures, and NDE techniques.
- Experience with piping fabrication, installation, and pressure testing in GMP environments.
- Familiarity with quality systems and documentation requirements for regulated industries.
- Ability to lead and coordinate QA/QC teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred
