Location: New Enterprise

The Aggregates Quality Control (AGG QC) Manager is responsible for supervising the aggregate QC technicians and partnering with Area Aggregate Managers and Quarry Superintendents to proactively address quality issues, improve product consistency, and support production efficiency.

Essential Functions
  • Direct and manage all aggregate QC activities to ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory specifications.
  • Train and mentor QC technicians and operations personnel on testing procedures and quality expectations.
  • Develop AGG QC technicians to function as embedded members of the Operations team, reinforcing a partnership-based and shared accountability model with Quarry Superintendents.
  • Constant collaboration with RMC and HMA QC Managers and their departments regarding QC technician coverage and quality issues.
  • Coordinate with Director of Technical & QA Services to maintain proper certifications of QC technicians.
  • Assist Quarry Superintendents and QC technicians in troubleshooting and resolving specific time-sensitive quality issues.
  • Oversee sampling, testing, and analysis of aggregates (gradation, durability, soundness, abrasion, etc.) in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, PennDOT/State DOT, and customer specifications.
  • Analyze QC data trends and prepare reports to support corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Audit QC labs for proper testing methods and documentation, coordinate equipment calibration and accreditation requirements, and ensure labs operate safely and efficiently.
  • Investigate test failures, material nonconformances, and customer complaints; implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DOT inspectors, auditors, and customers on quality matters.
  • Manage scheduling and vacation coverage to support production needs.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Engineering, Construction Management or relevant experience working in the Construction Aggregates Quality Control Industry is preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience, including, but not limited to aggregate materials testing and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with leaders and external networks.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work.
  • Ability to influence outcomes through collaborative problem-solving and effective communication.
  • Ability to work independently but as part of a team concept.
  • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and well as a Quality Management System (QMS) or other database systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and compliant with NESL's driving standards.
