Quality Control Technician Lead – Bethlehem, PA
The QA Lead Technician is responsible for performing standardized qualitative and quantitative tests on work‑in‑process and finished products to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards. The QA Lead Technician is also responsible for providing training and guidance to a team of Lab Technicians.
Shift/ScheduleThis is a full‑time position working on Day Shift, Monday – Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm. Flexibility to work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.
Position Responsibilities- Organoleptic and analytical analyses of products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards.
- Maintain sound calibration and validation programs for lab instrumentation such as HPLC, DMA, PFD, Carbo
QC, OxyQC, Refractometer, Autotitrators, Microscopes, Balances, pH Meter, Microbiological Luminescence System, UV‑Vis, etc. - Verify that each instrument or device performs within specified operational parameters.
- Provide accurate results and exhibit sound judgment before releasing data used to adjust syrup tanks and release finished product to market, qualifying and quantifying analytical output for validity.
- Perform microbiological testing of water, sugar, finished products, etc. by membrane filtration technique; perform surface swabbing on equipment.
- Assure quality and integrity of raw bulk ingredients such as sugar, CO₂, Liquid N₂, etc.
- Apply chemical principles and theories related to analytical methods and instrumentation, GLP, GMP, HACCP, Chemical Safety, and lab housekeeping procedures.
- Maintain QA documents and record‑control procedures, formula and specification control, consumer complaints, nonconforming materials and products, etc.
- Perform statistical analysis of laboratory data and use data to recommend process improvements.
- Maintain weekly inventory and stocking of laboratory supplies; research alternative sources to reduce cost without compromising quality.
- Manage finished product retain system.
- Train new personnel and existing laboratory staff on new procedures and techniques.
- Conduct instrument and method development, perform validation programs on new processes and procedures.
- Assist Quality Supervisors and Quality Managers with special projects as directed.
- Pay starting at $30.38 per hour.

- Science background – Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science‑related degree preferred.
- Laboratory experience in a dairy, food, or beverage manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience conducting internal audits, RCCA’s & CAPA document review.
- Ability to handle a stressful, fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Strong multitasking, time‑management, and organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Infinity
QS, Minitab, SAP. - Excellent training capabilities; excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Dependable, detail‑oriented, strong problem‑solving abilities, and strong commitment to teamwork.
- Ability to work any shift and/or overtime as required.
