Summary:
An Inspector is to maintain quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results. This would be achieved by counting, measuring, and inspecting product to verify that it meets specification and requirements. This verification might entail checking the product against bill of ladings, invoices, inspection sheets and drawings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Being able to identify the different types of New Age and OEM products
- To work with the Quality department management, on a daily basis, to identify what the workload is and what is required to meet the customer demands.
- Completing incoming, in-process or final inspection against specifications and/or drawings for defects
- Incoming/final inspections consisting of outside vendor products
- incoming inspections consisting of all raw material compounds
- In-process inspections for all inside manufactured products
- Final inspections for all inside manufactured products
- Recording inspection details and information for all inspections
- Knowing and understanding what is required to complete the inspection sheets
- Attaching identification tags onto product to make sure the status of the product is known
- Record and document when product is defective or in question
- Notifying the appropriate personnel that product is suspect and needs to be reviewed by management
- Submitting Suspect Material (non-conforming) Reports and supporting documentation
- Using and understanding the computer system for tracking this information
- Continually monitoring and following up on existing nonconformities
- Possibly unloading and unpacking incoming or outgoing shipments
- Visually being able to identify if product is damaged or acceptable
- Being able to determine the proper sample size needed to conduct an inspection
- Making sure that all Quality department paperwork and documentation is stored properly.
- Knowing and understanding where all the paperwork and documentation is stored.
- Notifying the Quality department management of additional quality issues
- An example would be if work instructions are not being followed, are no longer accurate or if equipment has been damaged or miss-reading information
- Understanding what the clean room processes are and what the Quality functions are in these rooms
- Knowing and understanding all testing requirements needed for the clean rooms
- Supporting and participating in Environmental Monitoring
- Creating product certifications
- Able to calibrate simple inspection tools and schedule third parties for complex monitoring systems
- Ability to maintain a positive, constructive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills as well as interpersonal aptitude needed
- High degree or reliability, accuracy and integrity.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent of combination of education and experience. ASQ certifications are a plus.
Language Skills:
The ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints; material specifications; safety rules; operating, maintenance and work instructions; and procedure manuals; the ability to write routine reports and correspondence; the ability to speak effectively before groups or customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Having the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers; common fractions and decimals. Also having the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Having the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; while also having the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
