Quality Engineer

Location: Akron

Key qualifications for this opportunity include:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing setting
• Proven knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, CAPA, and PCAPA processes
• Background working in the automotive industry
• Strong understanding of measurement tools such as calipers, and proficiency with measurement programs for equipment like Keyence or Nikon
• Familiarity with monitoring supplier quality metrics, conducting supplier audits, and managing quality documentation
• Education:
  
  2-year technical degree (4-year degree preferred)

Main responsibilities involve:

• Overseeing supplier quality performance via scorecards and regular communication
• Managing corrective actions (CARs, SCARs) and ensuring timely resolution of quality issues
• Participating in new product development meetings, providing quality input at early stages
• Conducting supplier audits and supporting supplier quality management systems
• Developing and updating work instructions and visual aids to promote clear, standardized procedures
• Performing first article inspections and documenting findings for customer review
• Collecting, analyzing, and tracking quality data to identify trends and root causes
• Leading small project teams to implement corrective and preventive actions
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within production and quality processes
• Traveling up to 5% for customer visits, training, or site audits
