Job Description

The primary role of the Quality Control Technician will be to interpret, comply with and improve MCG’s quality assurance standards. Essential to this responsibility will be the requirement to ensure quality assurance activities are documented, internal reporting processes adhered to, and regular audits implemented. The Quality Technician will identify any training needs and ensure the company-wide participation in the quality management system.

Responsibilities

Product Inspection
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Execute and document inspection and testing activities.
  • Verify compliance to specifications, drawings, BOMs, and customer requirements.
  • Record inspection results and maintain quality records.
Nonconformance Identification
  • Identify and document nonconforming materials and products.
  • Assist with containment and disposition activities.
  • Support corrective action investigations by providing inspection data.
  • Perform dimensional, visual, electrical, and functional testing as required.
  • Verify calibration status of inspection and test equipment.
  • Assist with first article inspections and validation activities.
Reporting
  • Prepare inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Communicate quality issues to supervisors and production personnel.
  • Track quality defects and trends.
Qualifications Required Knowledge/Experience
  • Two-year degree (or equivalent experience) in S.T.E.M. or related field or equivalent years of experience in the manufacturing/industrial industry setting.
  • Knowledge of warehouse inventory management. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of metal shop manufacturing and quality control. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement standards, terminology, methods, and tools including ISO
    9001, version control procedures, non-conformance/corrective action processes, auditing, 8D, 5

    Why, PFMEA, Kaizen, process flow mapping, etc. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment manufacturing, installation, and use. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and inspection methods
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Knowledge of measurement and testing equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, laboratory testing instruments (industry-specific)
  • Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret basic electro-mechanical diagrams including front elevation, one-line, manufacturing, and schematic drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications
