Job SummaryEducation:
B.S. in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience or equivalent demonstrating strong results in safety program implementation and training programs.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of MSHA regulations related to the manufacturing environment.
Essential Function:
Responsible for coordinating and conducting training activities at all locations for MSHA, OSHA, and SGI training requirements, developing new training materials for all Part 46 training requirements, scheduling and conducting industrial hygiene sampling, working with plants to develop and update JSA’s, SOP’s, or FMEA’s, and facilitating MSHA training, MSDS, and MSHA citation database management.
- Strong cost improvement initiatives driven through continuous improvement practices with total employee involvement.
- Ability to review training processes for content, presentation methods and effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Possess skills to drive change.
- Works well in difficult and time‑sensitive situations.
- Ability to manage a fluid travel schedule and be flexible as needed.
- Schedule and conduct New Miner Training for all plants through on‑site training or Adobe Connect sessions.
- Schedule and conduct Annual Refresher training for all plants through on‑site courses.
- Conduct task training classes as coordinated through plants.
- Develop task training database/spreadsheet for mobile equipment and operations.
- Conduct IH sampling at all plants based on SGI IH sampling plan distributed by Corporate.
- Work with plants/training teams to develop task training materials for all required task training.
- Coordinate and develop MSDS database for all plants to ensure database is current and accessible.
- During site visits, conduct contractor audits to ensure compliance with SGI Contractor Safety Handbook.
- Work with plants to schedule Examine tics annual medical testing and ensure retests and notifications are completed timely.
- Coordinate and manage database for all SGI MSHA required training and develop process for plants to receive and access current information.
