Quality Control Technician

This role supports a high-performance plastics manufacturing operation by inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet defined specifications and quality standards. The Quality Control Technician uses precision measuring tools, follows established standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintains accurate documentation to help ensure products are ready for shipment and meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished products to verify they meet all specified dimensions and quality requirements.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to perform accurate measurements on parts and materials.
  • Record inspection results clearly and accurately in quality control forms, logs, and computer-based systems.
  • Maintain complete and organized quality records, including inspection reports and related documentation, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare and review quality reports before products are released for shipment to confirm that all specifications and standards have been met.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and product specifications during all inspection activities.
  • Identify nonconforming materials or products, document findings, and communicate issues to the appropriate personnel for follow-up.
  • Use basic math skills to calculate measurements, tolerances, and other inspection-related values as needed.
  • Operate within a manufacturing environment, coordinating with production and other teams to support smooth workflow and timely inspections.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and quality standards while using inspection tools, handling materials, and working on the production floor.
Essential Skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and deviations from specifications.
  • Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic math skills to perform measurements, conversions, and simple calculations related to inspection tasks.
  • Basic computer skills to enter data, maintain electronic records, and complete digital inspection forms.
  • Ability to accurately complete inspection paperwork and maintain organized quality documentation.
  • Capability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and written specifications consistently.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred).
  • Prior quality inspection, plastics, chemical, or lab testing experience (a plus).
  • Comfort working with quality tools and processes in a production setting.
  • Ability to work a rotating weekly schedule with varying start times.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience, particularly in plastics or related industries, is beneficial.
  • Previous hands-on experience with quality control, inspection, or laboratory testing is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with data entry and maintaining digital quality records is helpful.
  • Comfort using measurement tools and understanding basic product specifications.
  • Ability to pass a 5-panel drug test as part of the hiring process.
  • No specific certifications or medical clearances are required for this role.
